Varshini dances to her own tune, instead of a coffee or tea, she prefers to catch up over hot chocolate. Varshini grew up in Chennai, South India and started studying her Chartered Accounting (CA) course as soon as the opportunity presented itself.

As part of the CA she delved into auditing and loved the forensic nature of the work and troubleshooting the balance of numbers. Whilst still based in India, Varshini worked as an off-shore resource for a Tax Agent based in Sydney and found Australian Taxation more interesting than the complicated local Indian system.

Leaving India was never her plan but she ended up being sponsored by that employer to move to Sydney. Initially it was difficult, she’d never lived alone in India so the juggle of client meetings, applying ATO rulings mixed during the work day compounded with having to learn to cook and take care of herself after hours was a huge learning curve that she met head on with gusto and persistence.

After a few months in Australia, through mutual friends – Varshini met her now husband. It was unbelievable to think she had migrated to another part of the world to end up finding a beautiful connection with someone who was raised from same home state, Tamiladu in India.

Positive, details focused and friendly, Varshini’s move to Australia was initially in pursuit of building and developing her career and in the end it was fortuitous for her heart.
