Growing up in Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital city, Natasha had wanted to be a doctor, but unfortunately realised the sight of blood grossed her out. Changing direction to focus instead on the objective beauty of numbers that are both less gory and prone to giving her a physical response was a logical pivot.
Natasha was destined to complete tertiary studies overseas and approaching the completion of high school her shortlist came down to the UK or Australia. After visiting the UK, she found the weather was far too grey and cold when compared with the milder Zimbabwe temperatures. From hearing positive news about the climate and friendliness of Aussies, Natasha successfully applied for Accounting at Deakin in Burwood, Melbourne.
Natasha’s positive outlook and open curiosity have been great assets enabling her to build a new community in Australia and navigate the initial challenges of living independently and establishing new friendships and networks. The relaxed setting has been a welcome change without the formality of addressing people as ‘Mrs’ or Mr’, though the use of more casual language, even in professional settings, has taken some getting used to.
Insightful, vibrant, always smiling and positive, Natasha is excited to be working with Martin and Martin to practice all that she has learnt from her Accounting degree. Extra special is that the Martin & Martin office is so lovely and conducive to absorbing and learning from the experienced team that work with her and the interesting clients that Martin & Martin service.
