Raised in an entrepreneurial family in Mumbai, Lavina was exposed early to large-scale manufacturing, international trade, and infrastructure projects. While she once dreamed of becoming a school teacher, she ultimately chose accounting for its versatility and global opportunities.

Lavina began her tertiary studies at Victoria University’s Malaysia campus before transferring to Monash University, where she completed a double degree in Banking & Finance and Accounting. Moving to Australia in the middle of winter was a shock after years in warm climates, but with guidance from family and a quick lesson in Melbourne’s love for puffer jackets, she adapted quickly—building friendships, gaining part-time experience in bookkeeping, and developing a strong foundation in Australian accounting practices.

Her professional career started in the city with a large chartered accounting firm, focusing on superannuation and compliance while completing her CA qualification. Over time, Lavina broadened her expertise across business services and client advisory, always with an eye on the bigger financial picture.

What drew Lavina to Martin & Martin was the firm’s diverse client base and progressive culture. She values the collaborative environment and practical approach to training, where technical topics like tax and estate planning are brought to life through real-world cases.

Known for her calm, considered approach and open communication style, Lavina thrives in team settings and enjoys facilitating the sharing of ideas. She is passionate about continuing to expand her knowledge in superannuation, business services, and investment structures—always with a focus on delivering value to clients.
