Bubbly and positive is how Agnes can be described. Born and raised in Malaysia, Agnes never imagined she’d end up studying or living abroad. Though she’d always known she’d be some sort of business woman. Growing up Agnes worked in her Aunt’s plywood business and was fascinated by business operations and finances and dreamed one day of running her own business juggling the many hats that come with it.

The middle child diplomat and self proclaimed ‘funniest’ of six siblings, Agnes always had a love of numbers and was initially drawn to science subjects at school. Things changed quickly when she took up Business Management and the satisfaction of reconciling and balancing numbers hooked her in.

Agnes came to Australia following her heart and signed up for her Bachelor’s of Commerce (Accounting) at RMIT. Though she misses the hits of spice in Malay foods, her family and the social buzz of a lively open-all-hours city, the diverse and interesting challenges in accounting (having worked in both business services and individual tax returns), and balance of the Australian way of life mean that Melbourne is now home.

Humble, friendly and so very helpful and approachable, when Agnes and her partner are not training and hanging out with their cheeky Corgi puppy fondly called ‘Bao Bao’, she’s getting her spicy fix devouring the Ma La Tang Dragon Hot Pot.
